Lincoln Longwools & Wensleydale Cross

Over the years, I kept "mutt" sheep , used for the training of my dogs for herding.  Eventually I  bought my foundation flock of Registered Lincolns.

The Wensleydale is a magnificent Old English breed.  I bought the girls with the intention of  becoming involved in the North American Wensleydale program, since my girls have good conformation and sport wonderful fleeces.

More Wool - Of Course!

I was very pleased with my first crop of lambs and have become totally hooked on the Lincoln breed.  The Lincoln’s that were purchased have had great show careers, and are producing very well, with several winning Top Honors for their fleece.

While, I am pleased with the overall quality of my flock, there are some minor cosmetic flaws that I need to work on for the show ring.

The main one being more face wool than I like, or as called for,  in the Lincoln Breed Standard.   Being an Aussie Show Judge has taught me the importance of adhering to breed standards, when trying to preserve the heritage of a chosen breed.  I have applied the same principals to the the breeding of my flock.

For the past two years I have incorporated my Wensleydale Ram into my breeding program and love the results.

what size -what wool

Wow!   I just love it!
