Boers are quiet
natured and hearty. They are
also content, easy keepers, which is a real plus around here! The does make excellent mothers, with good milking capabilities, making the breed a truly great, dual-purpose, animal when, you figure in the carcass quality!
It is through my dogs that I became a Breeder of Sheep and Goats. Having lived in the heat of the California desert for a few years, I learned that goats had a better tolerance, and worked better and longer than my few wooly “mutt sheep”.
Over the years, even after the move to Michigan, I have always maintained both for training the dogs. And, I just can’t imagine the spring with no new life! |

It was my love for the Great Wensleydale Breed, of English fame, which led me to my Lovely Lincolns; and my appreciation for their muscle & structure, which attracted me to raising Boer Goats.
Countrywoods Boers carry the name "Ray" on the Pure Bucks; and, Rae on the doe’s, in honor of my friend, Ray Davis, who got me started on my great Boer Goat Adventure, back around 1999.
I breed my Boers to their Standards of Perfection, as
I do with the Aussies, and I plan on equal success with them through the years.
